Ontario’s
Anti-Catholic Bill 13
By: Mary Elaine

The
Canadian government and other governments in the west have been forcing
Catholic institutions to go against Catholic teaching. Ontario’s Bill 13 is
aimed at muzzling Catholic teaching about homosexuality which derives from the
Bible and the Divine Law itself. The government treats homosexuality as if it
were akin to legitimate diversity issues such as race or ethnic origin. Sexual
orientation is not at all like legitimate distinctions such as race, ethnic
origin or religion. Homosexuality is a behaviour, a vice and a perversion like
beastiality and pedophilia. Those latter could be called sexual orientations
too!
“If we receive
the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater.” (1 Jn. 5: 9).
The
government has been encouraging the development in Catholic schools of pro-gay
clubs which causes Catholics to consent to homosexual sin. The essence of sin
is in the consent to evil, that is, to what God has forbidden and condemned. To
consent to homosexuality is the same thing before God as it is to commit
homosexual acts. It is not a sin, on the other hand, to have the wound of
homosexuality in one’s nature, as long as one’s mind and conduct are conformed
to the law of God. The propaganda the government is forcing on Catholics does
not accord with the Catholic teaching which counsels to “love the sinner but
hate the sin,” the propaganda the government is forcing on Catholic institutions
forces Catholics to consent to the sin of homosexuality with ideas such as
“it’s O.K to be gay.” Pope Leo XII said: “...Let
us abandon even the thought of being Christians if we have reached the point of
trembling before the threats or the traps laid for us by perverts.”
There
is no such thing as “homophobia”. That was a word coined by the homosexual
lobby for propaganda purposes. A phobia
is a medical condition which means an unreasonable fear of something. People
who object to homosexuality, do so on moral and completely rational grounds. Homosexuality
leads to social breakdown, that is, it cannot be proven whether or not homosexuals
are really born, since all the science is in the hands of pro-homosexuals who
make the science say whatever they want it to say, but homosexuals are
certainly made. Homosexuality also leads to mental illness. It is inherently
unhygienic and fosters dangerous contagious diseases such as AIDS and
hepatitis.
How
homosexuals are made: Homosexual activist,
Michael Swift wrote in “Gay Community News”, Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A. Feb.
15, 1987: “We shall sodomize your sons, emblems of your feeble masculinity, of
your vulgar dreams and shallow lives. We shall seduce them in your schools, in
your dormitories, in your gymnasiums, in your locker rooms, in your sports
arenas, in your seminaries, in your youth groups, in your movie theaters, in
your army bunk houses, in your truck stops, in your all male clubs, in your
houses of congress, wherever men are with men together. We will seduce them.
Your sons will become your minions and do our bidding. They will be recast in
our image. They will come to crave and adore us.”
Catholic teaching about homosexuality is very clear:
The
teaching of the Bible in the Old Testament and in the New Testament on
homosexuality is summed up in Romans 1: 24-32 as follows: “Who changed the truth of God into a lie; and worshipped and served the
creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause
God delivered them up to shameful affections. For their women have changed the
natural use into that which is against nature. And, in like manner, the men
also, leaving the natural use of women, have burned in their lusts one towards
another, men with men working that which is filthy, and receiving in themselves
the recompense which is due to their error. And as they liked not to have God
in their knowledge, God delivered them up to a reprobate sense, to do those
things which are not convenient; Being filled with all iniquity, malice,
fornication, avarice, wickedness, full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, malignity,
whisperers, detractors, hateful to God, contumelious, haughty, proud, inventors
of evil things, disobedient to parents, foolish, dissolute, without affection,
without fidelity, without mercy. Who, having known the justice of God, did not
understand that they who do such things, are worthy of death; not only they
that do them, but they also that consent to them that do them.”
“To God the
wicked and his wickedness are hateful alike.” (Wisdom 14: 9).
“For the Highest hates sinners, and will repay
vengeance to the ungodly.” (Ecclesiasticus 12: 7).
“Let love be
without dissimulation. Hating that which is evil, cleaving to that which is
good.” (Romans 12: 9).
Bible
quotes are from the Douay-Rheims Bible, which is the true original Bible
canonically sanctioned by the Council of Carthage in 397 A. D. and by the
Council of Trent in 1546 A.D. In Catholicism, what is handed down from
Apostolic tradition is the sign of veracity, said Pope Leo XIII in his
encyclical Satis Cognitum. The reason
for this is because Divine revelation ended with the death of the last Apostle,
and the Church was founded by God – Jesus Christ to preserve the revelation of
God and to transmit it intact and undefiled to every generation and nation,
because “the first condition of salvation
is to keep the norm of the true faith,” says the Decree Concerning the
Infallible Teaching of the Roman Pontiff, The Vatican Council of 1870 A.D. To
gain an insight into what explains the plethora of new “versions” of the Bible,

The
following was written about St. Francis Xavier when he evangelized Japan: “Francis nodded with understanding. He knew
that there followed immediately in the text a strong denunciation written by
himself of the unnatural sins and worst vices practised by not only the nobles
but by the Daimyo himself. It was a moment no true missionary could in
conscience avoid or try to dodge. Francis raced with his thoughts. Men addicted
to unnatural vice (homosexuality)
were described in the text, now in Juan’s trembling fingers, as ‘more filthy
than swine, more base than dogs and other brute animals.’” (The Fire Of Francis
Xavier, P. 222, Ch. 17, by Arthur R. McGratty, S.J., Imprimatur (Church
approval) 1952).
Texts
like the above show the just severity of God towards sin. As we can see from
the Bible and what the Church has always taught, it is right to hate sin and
evil. It is wrong to love or respect what is evil. However, unlike homosexual
activists and other enemies of Christianity, we do not hate the people who are
captives of vice, nor do Christians commit acts of violence towards them as
homosexuals hate and commit acts of violence against those who disagree with
them, and they seek to impose their views of us. Homosexual violence towards
normal people who object to their un-natural vice is not reported on the
mainstream news which has a homosexual agenda of its own, but it is documented
in books like Good-Bye Good Men by
Michael Rose, and it was evident in how some good Catholics who tried to defend
St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York from being desecrated by the violence of
homosexuals were beaten up and sexually abused by the homosexuals while the
police refused to protect them. Violence is very evident in the attitude and
rhetoric of homosexual activists.
However,
the focus of the New Testament is on calling sinners to penance, as the Book of
Ezechiel says, that God wishes not the death of the sinner, but that the sinner
should be converted and live. The New Testament reiterates this precept: “For the Son of man is come to save that
which was lost. What think you? If a man have 100 sheep, and one of them should
go astray: does he not leave the 99 in the mountains, and go to seek that which
is gone astray? And if it so be that he find it: Amen I say to you, he rejoices
more for that, than for the 99 who went not astray. Even so, it is not the will
of your Father, who is in Heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.”
(Matt. 18: 11-14).
Some people may well be born with a
predisposition to homosexuality, but the same is true of gluttons, alcoholics,
and other types of vice. God made people, sexuality, food, alcohol and tobacco
to be used according to the right order, but God did not make homosexuals or alcoholics, etc.. Homosexuality is
a disorder caused in human nature by original sin inherited from Adam and Eve.
Every human nature has some kind of disorder resulting from original sin that
makes people inclined to deviate from the order and law enjoined by God. That
is why in the Old Testament and in the New Testament we are directed to govern
our nature and to make it our servant, not our master: “If you give to thy soul her desires she will make thee a joy to thy
enemies” (Ecclusus. 18: 31), and: “If
any man shall come after Me, let Him deny himself, take up his Cross and follow
Me.” (Matt. 16: 24). The difference between saints and sinners is not in
the inclinations of nature, but in the fact that the saints govern their nature
in conformity with the laws and maxims of God, while sinners do not. People who
are predisposed to gluttony are no more doomed to obesity, than men and women
so inclined, are doomed to unnatural vice, if they properly control and dispose
themselves! Such people can take heart in the fact that temptation is not sin,
only doing what God has forbidden, or consenting to it is sin, and inherits
eternal Hellfire. However challenging the sacrifices needed to faithfully
observe the law of God may be, they are a lot easier than burning in eternal
fire, and the joys of a clean conscience and a clean life are a consoling
reward we can all live with.
The
Catholic aversion to sin does not make Catholics mistreat anyone. After all,
thieves, liars, adulterers and bullies never complain about being mistreated by
Catholics because they are thieves, liars, adulterers or bullies. Neither do
homosexuals get mistreated by conscientious Catholics because of what they are.
Catholics who bully, like Catholics who lie, cheat or steal or have sex outside
of marriage, are bad Catholics who go against Catholic teaching. But
nevertheless, it is often necessary to discriminate against homosexuals in
order to preserve the innocent from evil influences. Why would a Catholic
school accept a student who stands in flagrant contradiction to Catholic
principles and who may prove a source of dissent and bad influence? And why would
a homosexual seek out an environment so uncongenial to their chosen vice? The
only answer to that could be to cause trouble!
What causes bullying is that people
are not good Christians. Someone who loves Jesus Christ and who would rather
die than sin, will never mistreat or abuse anyone. They may indeed administer
corporal punishment, for example, parents may spank their children when they
misbehave. But corporal punishment that is warranted and proportionate is not
abuse. Indeed, charity, which means to love one another as God has loved us –
to treat others as we ourselves would like to be treated, is as characteristic
of true Catholics as abstaining from sin is – it is what we are. The true
religion of the true God makes people good! Bullying is malevolence which is
the opposite of benevolence. Rendering good entails resisting sin, beit lying,
stealing, bullying or vice such as homosexuality, as the old adage goes: to
hate the sin but to be good to the sinner. Be that as it may in the ideal
situation, things are very different where the way of God is not properly
inculcated. What is good begets love, and evil begets hatred. Homosexuality is
an evil. God made men to be men, and women to be women, and he assigned them
complimentary roles in society. When men assume feminine characteristics they
can expect to invite contempt and derision to themselves. Also, lust begets
disgust. Sexuality was made by God to be kept between husband and wife behind
closed doors for the purpose of procreation. The Creator inbuilt such a
sanction of nature into it as to bring disgrace and hatred to those who step
outside those boundaries assigned to sexuality by Him.

That
priests and prelates are not standing up for the rights of the Church to
practise what it preaches is a manifestation that most of these clerics are
Masons themselves and that the Church has been infiltrated. Priests and Bishops
who are faithful to Jesus Christ would be rallying the faithful and going to
jail to defend Catholic teaching and to resist government commands “issued
adversely to the honor due to God”, as Pope Leo XII says they should in his
encyclical Sapientiae Christianae, if it came to that! But don’t hold your
breath waiting!
"The Papal
Condemnations of Freemasonry are so severe and sweeping in their tenor, as to
be quite unique in the history of Church legislation. During the
last two centuries, Freemasonry has been expressly anathematized by at least
ten different Popes, and condemned directly or indirectly by almost every
Pontiff that sat on the chair of St. Peter. The Popes charge the Freemasons
with occult criminal activities, with ‘shameful deeds,’ with worshipping
Satan himself ..., with infamy, blasphemy, sacrilege, with the most abominable
heresies of former times; with the systematic practice of assassination, with
treason against the state, with anarchical and revolutionary principles, with
favouring Bolshevism, with corrupting and perverting the minds of youth, with
shameful hypocrisy and lying, by means of which, Freemasons strive to hide
their wickedness under a cloak of probity and respectability, while in reality
they are a very synagogue of Satan (Apoc. 3: 9) whose direct aim and
object is the complete destruction of Christianity" (Apologea Pro Vita Mea Sua, p. 12, by Fr. Denis Fahey C.S.Sp., D.D., Ph.D., B.A.,
Professor of Philosophy and Church History, Holy Ghost Missionary College,
Kimmage, Dublin, Ireland).
Pope Leo XIII, Sapientiae Christianae: “Hallowed
therefore in the minds of Christians is the very idea of public authority, in
which they recognize some likeness and symbol as it were of the divine Majesty,
even when it exercised by one unworthy. A just and due reverence to the laws
abides in them, not from force and threats, but from a consciousness of duty;
‘for God has not given us a spirit of fear.’ (2 Tim. 1: 7). But if the laws of
the State are manifestly at variance with the divine law, containing enactments
hurtful to the Church, or conveying injunctions adverse to the duties imposed
by religion, or if they violate ... the authority of Jesus Christ, then truly,
to resist becomes a positive duty, to obey, a crime... Here anew it becomes
evident how unjust is the reproach of sedition: for the obedience due to rulers
and legislators is not refused; but there is a deviation from their will in
those precepts only which they have no power to enjoin. Commands that are
issued adversely to the honor due to God and hence are beyond the scope of
justice, must be looked upon as anything rather than laws...
Law is of its
very essence a mandate of right reason, proclaimed by a properly constituted
authority, for the common good. But true and legitimate authority is void of
sanction, unless it proceed from God the supreme Ruler and Lord of all. The
Almighty alone can commit power to a man over his fellow men; nor may that be
accounted as right reason which is in disaccord with truth and with divine
reason; nor that held to be true good which is repugnant to the supreme and
unchangeable good, or that wrests aside and draws away the wills of men from
the charity of God...
For instances
occur where the State seems to require from men as subjects one thing, and
religion, from men as Christians, quite another; and this in reality without
any other ground, than that the rulers of the State either hold the sacred
power of the Church of no account, or endeavour to subject it to their own
will. Hence arises a conflict, and an occasion, through such conflict, of
virtue being put to the proof. The two
powers are confronted and urge their behests in a contrary sense; to obey both
is wholly impossible. ‘No man can serve two masters,’ (Matt. 6: 24), for to
please the one amounts to contemning the other. As to which should be preferred
no-one ought to balance for an instant. It is a high crime indeed to withdraw
allegiance from God in order to please men; an act of consummate wickedness to
break the laws of Jesus Christ, in order to yield obedience to earthly rulers,
or, under pretext of keeping the civil law, to ignore the rights of the Church;
‘we ought to obey God rather than men.’ (Acts 5: 29). This answer, which of
old Peter and the other apostles were used to give the civil authorities who
enjoined unrighteous things, we must, in like circumstances, give always and
without hesitation. No better citizen is there, whether in time of peace or
war, than the Christian who is mindful of his duty; but such a one should be
ready to suffer all things, even death itself, rather than abandon the cause of
God...”
